Narvin Leroy "Pete" Stowers
Narvin Leroy "Pete" Stowers 84, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at his home.
Pete was born January 21, 1932 at Louisville, to the late George Washington and Ruby Payton Stowers. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and Army Reserves with combined service of 30 years, retired maintenance supervisor from E.I DuPont De Nemours & Company, Louisville, a member of Milltown Masonic Lodge No 661 F & A M, a charter member of Shively Masonic Lodge and the Milltown Christian Church. He was a substitute teacher at Crawford County High School, received his Masters Degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Social Work and Theology, a volunteer with CASA in Harrison County and a volunteer with Wayside Mission.
Surviving are his wife, Marianne Hillen Stowers; sons: Jonathan C. Stowers (Elizabeth) of Severn, Maryland, David Lee Stowers of DePauw, James E. Stowers (Cynthia) of Leesburg, Virginia and Philip A. Stowers (Robin) of DePauw; daughter: Karen Sue Reed of Michigan; brothers: Paul Stowers (Marie) of North Carolina, Doug Stowers (Carol) of Connecticut and Gary Stowers (Diann) of Florida; sisters: Mary Thomas of Kentucky and Elizabeth Easley (James) of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 11 A.M. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Lincoln Hills Christian Church, 1130 Dale Avenue, Corydon, IN. Burial is in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery, Radcliff, Kentucky. Visitation: 2 - 8 P.M. Tuesday at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, Indiana and at the church after 10 A.M. Wednesday. Masonic rites at 7 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
