Herbert C. Slucher
Herbert C. Slucher, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2015.
He was born on November 29, 1927 in Louisville to the late Herbert E. and Ernestine M. Fishback Slucher. Herbert served our country during World War II while in the US Army. He retired from Dupont after 22 years and retired from the city government in Airport Relocation after 16 years. Herbert was a previous volunteer at Norton Suburban Hospital and a previous president of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He also held a membership at the Boaz Masonic Lodge, obtaining the Scottish Rite Degree, and was a member of Fern Creek Christian Church.
Along with his parents, his wife, Betty Jean Blair Slucher; and brothers, Robert Earl and Jeffrey Lynn Slucher have preceded him in death.
Here to carry on his memory are his daughter, Janis Allspaw (Steve), granddaughter, Mandy Johnston Hillman (Josh),great granddaughter, Amelia Hillman; his son, Gary Slucher (Carol); and grandson, Josh Slucher.
A service in honor of Herbert will be 2pm Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Ratterman and Sons, 3800 Bardstown Road, with burial to take place at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3-7pm Wednesday July 15, 2015 at the Funeral Home.
