George H. Kleyer
Kleyer, George H.,84, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, surrounded by family.
He was born September 7, 1930 in Louisville, the son of the late Henry F. Kleyer, Jr. and Mary L. Fogle Kleyer and was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean conflict.
George was a 1948 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a graduate of the University of Louisville.
He was a business analyst with Dupont for over 32 years until his retirement in 1985. He also served several terms as chairman for LWE (Members First) Credit Union. He was one of the founding members of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus, Bishop Spalding Council #2761.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Graf Kleyer.,George is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Blandford Kleyer; daughter, Judi Ramsey (Gregg) of Louisville; son, Tony Kleyer (Lisa) of Simpsonville; two grandchildren, Joel and Lindsey Kleyer; two step children, Mary Lee Jackson (Steve) and Jim Blandford (Elissa) and two stepgrandchildren, Alan and Jennifer Jacobs.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 1395 Girard Drive with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, "In St. Matthews."
