Dr. William F. Hawn
HAWN, DR. WILLIAM F., 89, passed away June 4, 2009 in Orlando, FL. He was born November 17, 1919 in Barbourville, KY to Frank and Alice Hawn. He was a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from Union College and the University of Louisville Medical School in 1945. He served his residency at the Louisville Veterans Hospital. He practiced in Louisville, then transferred to Ravenswood, WV, where he worked for DuPont and then came back to Louisville and worked as the medical director of the DuPont Plant. He was a member of the Kentucky Medical Association, the Greater Louisville Medical Society (formerly the Jefferson County Medical Society), the Louisville Society of Medicine, the Kentucky Historical Society, and the Kentucky Colonels. He is preceded in death by his wife Lillylee Hawn of 56 years. He is survived by his local family, nephew, Charles Pavey and his wife, Nancy; and three nieces and five nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Baldwin Fairchild Lake Ivanhoe Chapel Orlando, FL.
