Kenton Tyler Hammer
HAMMER, KENTON TYLER, 26, of Louisville, returned to our Heavenly Father on Thursday, November 7, 2013, while enjoying time off at his favorite place, the lake.
Kent was a 2005 graduate of St. Xavier High School and a 2010 graduate of Western Kentucky University. He was employed at DuPont Chemical Company.
Kent leaves behind his parents, Jim and Karla Hammer; brothers, Kyle (Jodi) and Matt (Eileen); his precious fiancée, Kate Ambrosia; his nephews whom he was so proud of, Collin and Colton, who is due in December; and his grandmother, Mary Hammer. He also leaves behind his best friend, Clayton Younger; and cousins Troy, Brett and Graham; as well as a wealth of family and friends whose hearts are broken.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Cleedas Hammer; grandparents, Paul and Bernadine Harrison; and cousins, Spencer Revolt and Megan Wilkins.
Visitation will be at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., on Monday and Tuesday from noon to 8 p.m. There will also be an hour of visiting prior to his funeral service at 11a.m. Wednesday at Okolona Christian Church, 10801 Faithful Way. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Kent loved nature, the lake, fishing, hunting, gardening and was one week away from buying his dream home on eight acres of woods. Kent valued his his faith, his brotherhood, his family and his country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to Jefferson Memorial Forest or the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Education and Resource Foundation.
