Leonard E. Fessel
NEW SALISBURY - Fessel, Leonard E., 93, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his home.
Leonard was born January 28, 1919 near New Salisbury, to the late William E. and Lillie B. Swartz Fessel. He was a retired supervisor-manager from E.I. Du Pont De Numours & Company, Louisville, former Scout Master of Holy Name Troop 66, Louisville, and attended Saint Bernard Catholic Church, Frenchtown, IN and Saint Michael Catholic Church, Bradford, IN.
Also, preceding him in death were a brother, William Robert Fessel; and a sister, Barbara A. Spalding.
Surviving are wife, Myrtle Ruth Gutknecht Fessel; children, Jerry L. Fessel (Yvonne), of Corydon, IN, Max W. Fessel Sr. (Sue) of Depauw, IN, Rena Lois Stickler (Jack), of Depauw, Calvin Russ Fessel (Vivian), of Noblesville, IN, Judith Ann Matthews (Russ), of Prospect, KY, Mark A. Fessel (Jimmi Jean), of Depauw, Thomas L. Fessel (Kathy), of New Salisbury, Cathy Pearl (Curtis), of Corydon and Samuel L. Fessel (Tracy), of New Salisbury; brothers, David K. Fessel (Kay), of Depauw and Edward Fessel (Debbie), of Paoli, IN; sister, Dorothy L. Smith of New Salisbury; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Michael Catholic Church, 11400 Farmers Lane NE, Greenville, IN 47124 with burial in the Church Cemetery. Visitation: 3 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, 1 - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Swarens Funeral Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Saint Michael Catholic Church.
