Click, Virginia, of Louisville, KY, passed away June 5, 2015 at Mayfair Manor Nursing Home in Lexington. She was 91.
Mrs. Click was born on May 7, 1924 in Louisville, KY, the oldest daughter of George and Wanda Winterkorn. She retired from DuPont Chemical Company in 1986, where she worked for 41 years. It was while working at DuPont she met and married Willie Arvin Click. She pursued and enjoyed traveling the world, as visiting all 50 states. After she married Willie Click, she learned to play golf and share his passion for the game. Mrs. Click found another passion in growing orchids. She became a very active member of the Kentucky Orchid Society, and served as the chapter president in 1986
.She continued to stay involved with the chapter, working diligently at their events and shows, as well as raising award-wining orchids in her own greenhouse. Mrs. Click was a very accomplished woman and loved to share her passions with her family and friends. She made quilts, which earned awards at the Kentucky State Fair. She knitted and crotched hats and blankets for charities. She will be remembered for her warmth and playful personality and she will be deeply missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Click; step-daughter, Norma Click Jones; and sister, Catherine.
Mrs. Click is survived by her grandchildren, George Michael Jones of Virginia Beach, VA, Robin Jones of Lexington, KY, and Debra McNeese of Pawleys Island, SC; three great0grandchildren, Haley McNeese, Mallory Jones, and Georgia Virginia Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday at noon at Evergreen Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
