Howard Edward Braasch
BRAASCH, HOWARD EDWARD, 93, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010.
He was born February 25, 1917, in Oconomawac, WI.
Howard attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Louisville.
He worked for E.I. DuPont Co. of Louisville for 41 years and was a member and elder of Jeffersontown Presbyterian Church. Howard was a member of the International Marquetry Society and organized the IMS chapter in Sun City, AZ. He enjoyed fishing at Rough River, was an enthusiastic flower and vegetable gardener, and devoted most of his spare time to his marquetry. He volunteered over the years for the American Red Cross, Hospice Society of Sun City, Arizona and Fern Creek/Highview United Ministries.
Howard's wife of 58 years, Ruth, preceded him in death in 1998.
He is survived by their children, Alice Braasch of Louisville, Doug (Andrea) of Vermont and Paul (Patty) of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Lisa (Winfrey), Megan (Staubitz), and Njama, Jason, Andy and Tyler; great-grandchildren, Brianne, Joshua, William, Nathan, Dahlia and Willem; and several nieces and nephews.
Howard was cremated and will be interred at a later date with Ruth and his parents in Sun City.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Episcopal Church Home.
The family requests no flowers. Donations may go to the Fern Creek Highview United Ministries or the Episcopal Church Home.
