Anthony W. "Tony" Aemmer
NEW ALBANY - AEMMER, ANTHONY W. "TONY," 62, passed away at his birthplace on Thursday, March 11, 2010.
Tony retired from DuPont Chemicals in Louisville and was a firefighter on the New Albany Fire Department for seven years. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Albany and an active member of the Cursillo Movement at Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality in Floyds Knobs, IN. Tony was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Carol A. (Marks) Aemmer; children, Laura Toler, Holly Aemmer (Edith McCawley-Aemmer), Tony Aemmer (Dorota), Michelle Miles (David), Mark Bennett (Emily Nicholson), Mark Aemmer (Jill), and Matt Bennett (Molly Cook); 12 grandchildren; sisters, Pat Stone (Nelson), Donna Condra (Jack), Marggie Kannapel (Wilbur), and Cathy Lou Sowders (Larry); brothers, Robert Aemmer (Barbara) and Richard Aemmer (Kathy); sister-in-law, Linda Aemmer; and brother-in-law, Dick Black.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN). His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 1752 Scheller Lane, New Albany, with burial to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Contributions in Tony's memory may be made to the Cursillo Movement at Mount Saint Francis Center for Spirituality or Catholics Returning Home of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
